On Sunday 12 May in Rome at the Circus Maximus and in five other Italian cities - Bari, Bologna, Brescia, Matera and Naples - the Race for the Cure returns, the event organized by Komen Italia to raise funds and raise awareness for the fight against cancer breast in Italy and around the world.
Now in its twenty-fifth edition, the Race for the Cure features women in pink, women affected by breast cancer who wear a pink shirt with the aim of promoting the importance of prevention in the eyes of public opinion.
It is a 2 km walk and a 5 km run, in which everyone can participate and this year there is the addition of a 10 km competitive race reserved for athletes. It starts from the Bocca della Verità and winds along the Fori Imperiali event, the Colosseum and the Baths of Caracalla to arrive at the Circus Maximus. Furthermore, a package of events and services for women is planned, such as free activities to raise awareness and prevent the main oncological diseases.
The event was born thanks to the non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against breast cancer, Susan G. Komen, founded by Nancy G. Brinker in honor of her sister, who passed away at the age of 36 due to this disease.
In addition to the strong message of encouragement launched, the Race for the Cure was able to launch over 1,500 new research, prevention and support projects for women experiencing breast cancer.
Cartografica Visceglia participates in the marathon together with the CNA team, a social force that has always supported female entrepreneurs and their families.
